The Demon Hunter - The Azure Swordsman - The Griffin
"We all do what we must to survive, even if it means killing our own." - Dante

Summary
Born and raised in a noble household of Ala Mhigan Nobility, Dante was raised in a life surrounded by blood at a very young age. His House, House Igniseri, a vassal to the Ala Mhigan Royalty since the time of the nation's founding by Anshelm Cotter. As the only child and the only son of the family, Dante was taught since childhood on every possible ways to kill a man as well as a demon. From simply cutting them down, to poison, and magic. Even studying the anatomy of a man's body to know where to apply pressure that can cut off a man's blood vessel including demon's. This sort of teachings to Dante is not out of vice or malice, but out of necessity, as during the time of his childhood is when the Garlean occupation first enacted when the Legatus of the Imperial XIVth Legion, Gaius van Baelsar, have conquered the region. It was throughout the time of the occupation that lead to present day that marks the story of the so called the Griffin of Ala Mhigo.During the harsh years of the occupation, Dante was trained by his father, who was the Patriarch of House Igniseri, Lucien Igniseri, who taught him everything from martial arts to academic studies. Since the Garleans have destroyed many of Ala Mhigan's relics and artefacts during their occupation, finding proper pieces of history are few and far between. It is said that Dante received the education that can be compared to the teachings of Sharlayan. To which many surprised, that Dante's mother, Lady Sophia Igniseri, was a noblewoman of Sharlayan birth that married into House Igniseri and gave birth to her son. While unfortunately that Dante's mother, Sophia, died of illness after giving birth, his father, Lucien, was the only parental figure that Dante ever had prior to his eventual death. Over the years from the age of 5 to 15, Dante spent the majority of his childhood trained in the art of war. Studying military strategies as well as combat tactics enhanced by his own martial prowess, backed by his knowledge as an assassin by his father, Dante would be known as a killer among many, a demon. When Dante reached the age of 18, his father Lucien, would fell in battle during a night raid that went wrong. Resulted in his old estate that is hidden near Loch Seld, to be destroyed by the Garlean XIIth Legion. Deprived from his only parental figure, Dante would resort to the only thing that was left behind for him, a sword that was forged during the days of his House's founding, the Antwyr, an ancient artifact that is said to house a powerful Voidsent known as the Arbiter, who's name was lost to the annals of history. Dante, who was grief with sorrow, letting out the last of his emotions before he forged a pact with the Arbiter, which is said that the Arbiter shall grant him powers beyond his mortal capabilities in exchange for aether that can be harvested by those he'd slain with the blade. With the pact made that is sealed in blood, Dante would took on the old relic of his House and began to make his mark as the Griffin, and eventually known as the Demon Hunter.Dante's journey for more than a decade would be fraught with constant bloodshed. At first, after Lucien lost his life to the Garleans, Dante's first order of business was to join the Ala Mhigan Resistance that was based in Rhalgr's Reach. It was then when Dante began his career as a soldier and a regular within the Resistance where he lead a small splinter group of elite warriors that infiltrated behind enemy lines and sowing chaos and discord among the enemy ranks. However, with every small victory comes with defeat for the Resistance. However, rather than staying inside Gyr Abania with limited knowledge, Dante was given his last orders by the late Commander Kemp, and to travel to western parts of Eorzea where he would learn more of Garlean activities in the west as well as causing discord that can relief the Resistance in some ways possible. It was during his travels where Dante's name became feared among the Garleans, and even to those that caught him on his bad side. While Dante had many alias, there was one that struck out to the Garleans the most, the Ruby Eyed Demon. It was a name that sowed fear among many a soldiers within the Legions of Garlemald. While the stories often exaggerate, it is said that Dante's precise killings of Imperial soldiers that caused chaos among the ranks and how he left a signature mark upon their bodies as a warning. This sort of persona that Dante had earned on the battlefield would've alienated him from many other colleagues that would work with him. For his martial prowess that is ruthless to the point where often times the Grand Companies refused his aid due to the dangers that he brought with him to many other local communities. When Dante was at the age of 25, he became active in rebelling against the Garleans in Ala Mhigo once more. As his deeds from Commander Kemp was fulfilled before his eventual death in Rhalgr's Reach. It is said that when Commander Hext took his station, Dante returned to the frontlines in Ala Mhigo as a splinter operative and a lone wolf this time that sowed discord among the ranks of the Imperial XIIth. Many regarded his swordsmanship to be as elegant and graceful yet lethal and precise as well as swift, much like a Griffin when it is on the prowl for its prey. By the time Ala Mhigo was liberated, so too did his efforts went beyond the boundaries of Gyr Abania. As news of the Griffin traveled far within the Resistance network, as the man himself would landed in Dalmasca and Bozja alike where he would stay for a short period of time to aid the Resistance in liberating their country. Over time during the events of the Final Days, Dante answered the call from the Ilsabard Contingent to join as one of their regulars. Fighting on the frontlines with old comrades from Ala Mhigo to liberate Garlemald from the Telophoroi. It is said that during his time in Garlemald, Dante finally began, or resumed his lifelong career as a Demon Hunter. While Dante's work isn't exactly around the Capital city itself, he was dispatched towards the outskirts of the city where he received sightings of abominations and demons alike, and went to exterminate them in earnest. It was this time where his sword, the Antwyr, began to grow even more in power by absorbing the strength of fallen demons and abominations alike. Where his blade was so fierce that it could cut through demons with ease, and eventually voidsent. 2 years later leading to present day, Dante is now a fully fledged Demon Hunter or Voidkin Hunter, lending his blade and his talents to those in need to deal with abnormal threats throughout the Star. Wherever Demons or Voidsent spawns, he will follow.

The Dossier
Full Name: Dante Luciel Igniseri
Alias: The Demon Hunter, The Azure Swordsman, The Griffin
Age: 30
Gender: Male
Race: Midlander Hyur
Nationality: Ala Mhigan
Profession: Demon Hunter | Voidsent Hunter
Deity: Rhalgr, the Destroyer
Appearance
Unlike many of the Highlanders that dwelled in Gyr Abania, Dante was born and raised as a midlander hyur male with a pale warmth features upon his skin as well as his signature style hair color of azure that is tinted with white. As a result of a mixed hair genetics inherited from his parents whom the father possessed the hair of white as the salt of Loch Seld, while the mother possess the azure like hair of the deep blue ocean. What's more striking of Dante's physical characteristics is his pair of crimson red eyes. It is said that his eyes alone aren't from natural birth, as it is due to his pact formed with his blade, the Antwyr and the Voidsent, the Arbiter, resulted in some minor changes to his physical appearance, and it is because of his eyes that he is often named the Ruby Eyed Demon among the Garleans. However, despite his eyes that usually stands out, his own hair color changed when he used some of the powers of Antwyr. Shifting his hair from azure to pure white completely for a certain duration before it was back to normal. While Dante have the eyes of a killer, his choice of fashion is very much the same. As the man often sports an armored battle coat that was weaved by his father and most of the armored platings are of custom made designs from Dante himself when he went out to purchase parts to repair or rebuild his equipment. Often sporting a cloak to conceal his figure, Dante usually like to not drawing too much attention when need be when he is out in public. Although often times even his sense of fashion can be picked by the local patrons in Quicksand in Ul'Dah when he mingled there from time to time. Besides wearing his main battle coat, Dante sometimes wear full plate of armor that has Ala Mhigan design or sometimes he would opt out for more lesser protection by wearing leather with a trench coat and sweaters or a well tailored shirt beneath. Dressed similarly to his father before him as well as his ancestors. The most striking appearance for him is the very blade he carried, the Antwyr. It is said that the blade itself was once forged by House Igniseri's founder, Freud Lucien Igniseri, who went on a crusade against Voidsent that was sighted in remote parts of Gyr Abania that have been causing terror throughout the local communities. One of the powerful Voidsent which eventually known as the Arbiter, was slain by Freud and the blade became the Voidsent's eternal prison. Over time, the Voidsent wanted freedom, but with Dante now took up the sword, it is said that the two shared a mutual connection with each other where both he and the blade traveled often together and see the world and was able to absorb the aether of his fallen enemies. Those who came to know Dante would perceive him to be rather odd and strange, due to the fact that Dante sometimes speak to the blade itself that only he can able to hear the answer. While derange as it sounds, Dante never really showed it out in public. The blade itself however, carried the design of a long broadsword that was forged in a specialized allow which combined the properties of silver which allow the blade to be highly conductive, mixed with obsidian as well as adamantite for durability. What makes this blade capable of housing the Voidsent to begin with, is that the blade's property functions similar to that of an Anima Relic Weapon. Where the soul that resides within the weapon would be able to converse and become sentient. Unlike the Antwyr, the blade itself became a vessel for the Arbiter, and was able to converse and communicate to its wielder the moment it made contact.
Personality
While there isn't much to tell about Dante's overall personality, it is said that during the time when he was a small boy to teenager, he was a polite, well mannered, and respectful lad of noble heritage. Who didn't use his status to oppress others but to protect the weak. However, over time his own persona changed to where he felt empty and unable to received emotions the moment he is set on the battlefield. Throughout his early tenures with the Ala Mhigan Resistance, this alienated him from his own fellow soldiers. It took several years for Commander Kemp to teach the young Dante at the time, to realize that there is more to life than what's on the battlefield, and it is because of that insight alone, Dante began to mingle with other people more frequently, and eventually this improved when he started to travel around the Star.At first, many would find the man to be somewhat reserved, broody even, soft spoken. Those who are able to get to know him better would find that the man is very opinionated on certain things given the conversation. Duty-bound as well as inquisitive are his second nature, as hunting voidsent or demons of the like have made it into his lifelong mission despite that profession isn't exactly common. Some would even compare Dante as another noble Knight from a different land. While Ala Mhigans don't particularly have a strong knightly culture like their counterparts in Ishgard, it is said that Dante's House, are one of the last of the individuals who carries the old sense of knighthood, and he is but the last of his bloodline to carry it, despite his personal upbringings on how the man was trained to become more of an assassin than that of a Knight. When out in the field, Dante's emotions would be swept aside, always thinking about the big picture as well as acting as a lone wolf. With no one to support him, this had been one of his bad habits when he worked in groups. Due to the things that he did would prove to be extreme for the people around him to keep up. Teamwork wasn't exactly his strong suit until he became a regular in the Ala Mhigan Resistance when he lead that small splinter group against the Imperial XIIth Legion. After the events of the Final Days that lead to present day, it is said that Dante's persona have somewhat improved for teamwork based activities, like his old habits, they die hard quite often. As per usual, Dante would prioritize his own mission more than the sake of his own fellow teammates. This would make him rather cold, ruthless, and distant to those who worked with him, but often times he would give them a fair warning on his methods before they would embark on journeys with him. While Dante doesn't have that much of his old persona with him these days, it is said that the man would be more willing to get his hands dirty so others do not have to. For him, shedding blood is but his nature, and it is all he had ever known, despite with some prior experience with noblesse etiquette that was taught by his father before he died.
Occupation
When Dante was eighteen years of age, he enlisted within the Ala Mhigan Resistance and served as a regular and splinter operative in undermining Garlean occupation across Gyr Abania. This profession of his lasted for over a decade which its own trials and tribulations. Throughout his work as a regular, Dante also started his own profession as a Demon Hunter, sightings of demons and abominations of the like that have been conjured by the Beast Tribes or some malicious cult have been targets of Dante's hunt. While this profession isn't exactly common, and few and far between, Dante focused much of his efforts within the Resistance to fight against Garleans as much as possible. Resulting in him getting many of his known alias that those who would heard about today. While working as a member of the Resistance, Dante did take a number of odd jobs when he traveled around the Star, mostly around Eorzea. During his stay in Ul'Dah, Dante was working to gain allies that can help undermining Imperial activities in the West to alleviate the threat from the East. This resulted in him participating in the Gladiator tournament and where he would have to prove his mettle if he was to not only survive, but also seek out the people he needed to enlist. While Dante's profession as a Gladiator was brief, he made a remarkable mark within the ring to where the name "Griffin" was spread throughout the local populace of the swordsman himself have made a name within the city walls surrounded by corruptions and shady dealings behind the scenes. All of those achievements aside, Dante also spent time in the shadows as a wandering Knight. Due to his lineage of the Ala Mhigan Nobility of the past, Dante did possess the old signature plate armor that was worn by his House's founder. Freud Igniseri I, and through the visage of the past with him, he can be seen serving his people as a Knight in the shadows. Spreading his deeds far and wide throughout his homeland in Gyr Abania, and working to restore peace to his people once more. While many would question why that a man who's raised as an assassin would don the mantle of knighthood, simply put, a Knight isn't completely bound by a rigid code of honor that dictates how one fight, for Dante and much of his lineage, it was a means on doing whatever it takes to not only survive, but to thrive.
Hooks
The Splinter Operative
Those who worked with the Ala Mhigan Resistance would heard many a rumors regarding a small splinter group of Ala Mhigan elites that caused chaos within the ranks of the Garlean oppressors. As Dante is the spearhead of these rumors and the man would take strides knowing that he is one of the few people that was responsible for not only disrupting operations throughout Gyr Abania, but his efforts were ruthlessly efficient, that caused the Garleans to focus more on him than that of his own people. Always remaining in the shadows to serve the light, and with it, the man's deed through his time as a splinter fighter would be regarded as one of the bloodiest throughout history.
The Azure Swordsman
As the name implied, the name "Azure Swordsman" derives from his own hair color. Those who have fought with him or against him would regarded him as the man with the azure lochs have cut through his enemies with grace as well as precision. Despite wielding the Antwyr, it was his own strength that allowed to wield some of the heavier weapon type with one hand. Or perhaps that his blade is light enough to where he would be able to wield it like a one handed sword. There was a time where the features of his own hair color shifted to white and the aura shaped by his aether that turned azure is due to his own manifestation of his powers with his sword that displayed the colors that many would know should they cross his path.
The Demon Hunter
As mentioned throughout his career, Dante did and still continue his profession as a Demon Hunter. Those who worked in the same profession would recognize him for taking down a Voidsent that was on the prowl through the Gilded Sea of Paglth'an. As that particular quarry of his, was a voidsent that possessed the remains of a Telodragon that have been causing some chaos with the nomadic Amalj'aa communities there. Dante also pursued many demonic beings of the Void throughout the Shrouds of Gridania, where often the Order of the Twin Adders enlisted his aid in dealing with the abnormal. Things that not many people would dare to mention or approached.
The Shadow Knight
Those who dwelled throughout the remote parts of Gyr Abania, would often see a shadowy figure clad in armor with a black cloak that concealed his figure would be on the prowl to hunt down demons and voidkin alike that would cause harm to the innocent. This particular alias of Dante isn't exactly well known, due to the fact that the man concealed many of his features through the helmet he wears and the blade wouldn't glow much with shrouds of aether coating it. However, this persona of his as well as his own physical description would be similar to those that are lucky enough to see him up close at night when he was out hunting his quarry.
The Griffin Rider
Few within the ranks of the Ala Mhigan Resistance would have the privilege nor the opportunity to ride a griffin. Even fewer get the chance to ride a True Griffin that dwelled in the highest parts of Gyr Abania across its peaks. Dante, one of the few individuals that not only tamed his own griffin, but a True Griffin at that. With its personality that is very similar to his when Dante made a pilgrimage through the mountain ranges to offer his respects to his ancestors. It was one such pilgrimage that where he encountered his newfound companion, and one that ever remained by his side for a long time. This True Griffin would eventually be known as Soren, the same name to his ancestor's trusted griffin companion, who's passed down to generations. Those who are lucky enough to look up at the skies would see the man flying with his companion through the Peaks of Gyr Abania, to bring peace and constant vigilance over the threats that would bring harm to his people.
